Premier League players pelted by fans after Senegal bow out of World Cup

Five Barclays Premier League players dodged rioting fans as Senegal failed to qualify for the World Cup and African Nations Cup after drawing 1-1 against Gambia in Dakar.

Sunderland striker El Hadji Diouf, Stoke’s Abdoulaye Faye, Salif Diao and Ibrahima Sonko and Wigan’s Henri Camara were pelted with rocks and glass bottles.

They stayed barricaded in the stadium for three hours before being smuggled out.
