Talking in the November issue, Rachel said: 'I’ve noticed in my career this tendency towards wanting women to be likeable in a way that’s not asked of men.

'I don't understand how that's happened. You know, if you look back at Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis – they were difficult, difficult women, and they were iconic and worshipped.'

However, her saving grace is the director of her upcoming release (The Lobster) who treats women in an admirable manner, according to the actress.

On the subject of Yorgos Lanthimos, Rachel said: 'He’s immensely gentle and very respectful. I think he really loves women, I mean he’s just really comfortable around women. And that isn’t always true of directors.’

The accompanying shoot sees Rachel don all variety of pretty high-end designer outfits for the couture special.

She is polished to perfection as she poses in a semi-sheer printed shirt dress and a more glam pnik prom-style frock.

Make sure you shine in an embellished dress by Marc Jacobs

Who do you think wore it best - Rachel Weisz or Kendall Jenner?

It's no wonder Rachel was so bowled over by the dress that Kendall modelled on the Marc Jacobs SS16 runway at New York Fashion Week earlier this month (pictured, right) that she snapped one up for herself straight away. And here she is wearing it her own way at as she walked the red carpet at the premiere of The Martian!

The embellished upper half of this dress is super chic and provides the perfect contrast to the spangled chevron midi skirt in patriotic shades of red, white and blue. Of course this hot off the catwalk look isn't yet available to buy, but if you can't wait until next year, click (right) to shop the current Marc Jacobs collection at Net-a-Porter.

Or check out the embellished dresses we've got lined up for you in the edit below. Frock and Frill has well and truly got the trend covered, or team this two-in-one dress by Ted Baker with a sleek up 'do to be red carpet ready.
