Julia Roberts channels Anna Wintour with a cinnamon-coloured stiff bob wig and large designer shades on set of Mother's Day

Julia Roberts looks almost unrecognisable in her latest role.

The 47-year-old actress appeared to be channeling her inner Anna Wintour on the Atlanta, Georgia set of Mother's Day on Thursday.

The Pretty Woman actress rocked the 65-year-old Vogue editor-in-Chief's signature stiff bob and large, black designer sunglasses.

Though the hair was exactly styled in the same way as the artistic director for Condé Nast, the colour did differ as it was more a cinnamon red than Wintour's light brown tresses.

The rest of Julia's look wasn't quite as glamourous as the fashion icon as she kept warm in a black puffer jacket.

The My Best Friend's Wedding actress appeared to have let her face breathe as she seemingly went make-up free on the outing.

The flick features a star-studded cast including Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Timothy Olyphant and Jason Sudeikis.

Helmed by Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve director, Garry Marshall, the story follows the intersecting stories of a group of mothers on the special day.

It's her fourth collaboration with Marshall, who also directed in her in Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, and Valentine's Day, and is due for release on April 29, 2016.

Julia has been squeezing in family time in between filming from the movie as she was spotted supporting her two sons Phinnaeus,10, and Henry, eight at their soccer match in Malibu last Saturday.

The Eat Pray Love star celebrated her 13th anniversary with husband Danny Moder earlier this year.

She told Allure magazine that she didn't think she would have 'succeeded' on her upcoming film Secret in Their Eyes without Moder serving as cinematographer.

'So awesome. Well, don't get me started. Yeah, it's my person,' she said of her 45-year-old beau.

In the crime-thriller, Julia plays a DA investigator called Jess, who has to relive her daughter's rape and murder after new evidence is discovered 13 years later.

Secret in Their Eyes was the couple's eighth collaboration following films like The Normal Heart, Mona Lisa Smile, and The Mexican (where they met in 2000).

It hits US theaters November 20 and UK theaters March 4, and it stars Nicole Kidman, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Dean Norris.
