'Everyone has insecurities': New mum Rebecca Adlington talks post-baby body as she reveals she and husband Harry Needs plan to try for second baby next year

She welcomed her first child with husband Harry Needs in June. 

And while some new mothers stress about their post-baby figures, it seems Rebecca Adlington is refusing to be one of them.

Speaking about her body confidence to The Daily Mirror, the 26-year-old swimmer revealed that being a mum to daughter Summer has put things into a whole new perspective.

'When you have a baby a lot of stuff seems irrelevant. It's like, "why am I worrying about this? I have this amazing daughter. It's not about me,' she explained. 

Having openly undergone a nose job, the Olympic gold medalist confessed that she has come to learn even the slimmest women have their body hang-ups. 

'No is ever happy with themselves, even someone absolutely beautiful and in shape. Everyone has insecurities. That will never go away, even if I got my pre-baby body back.'

Opening up about her 'proper blonde' four-month-old bundle of joy, the sports star claimed that she has inherited Rebecca's eyes, though she looks like her personal trainer husband when she's sleeping.

And it seems the couple are enjoying parenthood so much that they're even considering trying for baby number two as soon as next year .

But it looks like their brood could extend even further as the star claimed Harry is hoping for four children in total - something Rebecca isn't keen to put her body through.

Announcing the birth of her baby girl on Twitter earlier this year, Rebecca gushed: ''@harryneeds and I are over the moon as we welcomed our beautiful baby girl this morning. She's doing well and we're so in love!!!'  

Previously Hello magazine: 'It was the most painful thing I have ever done but also the most rewarding.

'Winning medals doesn't really make a difference to real life but bringing a new child into the world is without a doubt our greatest achievement.' 

Revealing the origin behind their daughter's name, Harry added to the magazine: 'When we realised Becky had won her medals in summer, that we got married in summer, and that our baby was born in summer, it made perfect sense to name her after our favourite time of year.'
