Now that's a payrise! How Amy Schumer resold rights to her book for SEVEN TIMES the original price following her Emmy win

She is a star actress, feted comedian, and even has an Emmy award to her name - but now it seems Amy Schumer can add shrewd businesswoman to her CV as well.

Last week it was reported that Schumer was celebrating after landing a multimillion-dollar book deal, but now it has been revealed that the Inside Amy star actually sold the same book once before.

Back in 2013 Harper Collins bought the rights to a series of comic essays by Schumer for $1million, when she was little more than an aspiring stand up.

However, with awards under her belt, a series to her name, and the starring roll in a Judd Apatow film, Schumer clearly decided she could do a little better, according to the New York Times.

As a result, she cancelled her old contract, repaid her advance and then auctioned the rights off again, this time for a reported $8million.

Michael Morrison, the president and publisher of HarperCollins, said: 'I can’t say that I was surprised that Amy decided to cancel our contract.

'Amy is driven, hysterical and really has her pulse on the culture. She deserves all her success and is obviously smart.

'She knew that delaying her book would reap huge benefits when the time was right.'

After selling off the rights to her book a second time, the carefree comedian was seen trying out body-boarding and then flying a kite as she frolics by the ocean.

In the first clip, the 34-year-old rides the waves on her body board while yelling out to her friend. She captioned the post 'queen tritan!'

She also shared a snap of her on the pretty beach with comedian pal Bridget Everett and lifts her arms to the sky as the venture into the waves.

Schumer captioned the fun snap 'Find me and @bridget everett.'

And the comedian showed off her curves as she ran along the beach in a black bikini with a bright pink bird kite trailing in the air behind her, captioning it 'success.'

The Emmy winner also shared a make-up free black and white photograph of herself making toast and scrambled eggs with a male companion.

Her romantic comedy Trainwreck, which she wrote and stars in, was a hit over the summer.

And her popular Comedy Central Show won Best Variety Sketch show at the Emmys on September 20. She also fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening for Madonna in Madison Square Garden on September 16th.

And just days after her Emmy win, it was revealed Amy had landed between $8-$10 million for her first book, a memoir, which will be released late next year.

The book will 'offer personal and observational stories from Schumer that range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing,' her publisher Gallery Books said.

The Trainwreck star also gave herself an award for 'Best Body,' sharing the silly snap on Instagram on Friday.

'There are so many foods I want to thank,' she wrote as she clutched the 'Best Body Award' in a store aisle.

The quick-witted star has previously declared she is proud of her size six body and has no interest in starving herself.
