Style doesn't sleep! Hilary Duff finds the energy to muster a smile despite filming almost non-stop in New York

Now that she is back on the small screen, this star is making a big effort.

Hilary Duff looked like she was loving life as she stepped out on the set of Younger in New York on Wednesday.

Smiling away, the 28-year-old did not appear at all sleepy despite getting very little rest as she had been filming late into the night the evening prior.

Transforming into sassy up and coming publisher Kelsey Peters, the former child star spent almost as much time in the wardrobe trailer as she did in front of the camera.

The actress turned singer kicked off her day in a long printed flowing skirt that's boho look was cancelled out by her let's do business long sleeved black turtle neck.

Carrying a coffee, the star strutted along in a pair of suede boots.

Her next took, however, turned up the heat more than her hot beverage did with the actress putting on a leggy display in a very short hemline.

For her next scene, Hilary changed into a mini dress with a black and a geometric print on top.

Looking very New York indeed, the blonde was also dressed in a tan cape which fastened with leather straps and a pair of Mary Jane heels.

Also joining Hilary on set was the TV Land show's main star Sutton Foster who also wore two looks.

The actress first was dressed in a rather low key green lightweight tracksuit before changing into a tartan skirt with ornate zip up jacket and off white buckle boots.

Hilary made a costume change into another stylish outfit that highlighted her hourglass shape.

The mother-of-one smiled as she strolled through the set, donning a grey sweater over a tight and low-cut dress.  

Meanwhile, Sutton was not seen filming the previous evening with Hilary in the hipster enclave of Williamsberg.  

For her night shoot, the 28-year-old actress opted for a rather hipster chic look rocking a long brown down coat over a striped black and white top.

Hilary Duff came to NYC well prepared for the chilly Fall weather when she donned this oversize down coat. The former Disney star layered it over a striped shirt and ripped jeans and topped off her look with a wide brim hat.

The Younger star then added a touch of glam to her baggy denim when she wore these Gianvito Rossi booties. The suede stompers featured a cutout diamond design and pointy toe silhouette.

The lattice look has been very popular in footwear these past few months and the trend doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. Team these beauties with an LBD or distressed dungarees like Hilary for style versatility that will last for seasons to come.

The former star of Lizzie McGuire star also wore a pair of on-trend light blue jeans ripped at the knees and a pair of black suede heels. 

She definitely appears to have an affinity for stylish headwear as she sported one of her collection of wide brimmed hats for the occasion. 

The mother to three-year-old son Luca accessorised with the large dark grey suede fedora as she carried along two bottled beverages and novel The Girl On The Train.

The star was holding the same book on Wednesday, so either she is just finding some downtime to read or perhaps is gunning for a role in the recently - and partially cast - movie version.

Her signature blonde locks were worn down flowing over her shoulders as the longest part was wrapped up in a ponytail. 

The A Cinderella Story actress sported natural, complimentary make-up on her face highlighted by a swipe of shiny pink lip as she showed off her pearly whites on the outing.

Hilary's character Kelsey Peters will receive 'a big job opportunity' on the Darren Star show following her affair with one of her writers at the publishing company. 

The 12-episode second season comedy series Younger returns in January on TV Land.
