It was loving hugs and kisses all round in Copenhagen on Tuesday for the official opening of the Danish Parliament.

Coming together to attend the parliamentary session, members of the royal Danish family were spotted exchanging warm greetings with each other as they congregated at Christiansborg Castle in the heart of the city.

Princess Mary, 43, opted for a conservative get-up, donning a black peplum, simple black shawl and sophisticated grey lace pencil skirt for the occasion, paired with a pillbox hat, grey belt and elegant black pumps.

Joining her was her husband Prince Frederik, Queen Margrethe, Prince Consort Henrik, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte.

Prince Consort Henrik appeared overjoyed to see his sons, with the 81-year-old photographed receiving a kiss from his eldest son Prince Frederik before later sharing an intimate conversation with Prince Joachim.

Queen Margrethe chose to attend the meeting in a fiery red blazer and hat while Princess Marie wowed in a tailored pastel trench and mahogany hat.

Once sat on the balcony, Princess Mary and her beau were seen exchanging adoring looks - the pair photographed smiling and engaged with one another for the second time this week.

The royal couple were pictured looking as enamoured with one another as ever at the annual Crown Prince Couple's Prizes together on Friday night.

Throughout the black tie ceremony, the pair were spotted looking warmly at each other and laughing as they sat side by side in the audience at the Culture Yard in Elsinore, north of Copenhagen.

The prizegiving ceremony honours work by Danish individuals in cultural and social areas, and includes a prize for up and coming innovators.

Mary, 43, and Frederik, 47, took to the stage to deliver speeches during the evening, which included musical performances by a number of local musicians, and to present four awards.

The stylish Princess dazzled in a fifties-inspired fitted jewel-embellished A-line skirt with lace detailing, paired with a stunning black turtleneck.

She also donned a piece of the royal Ruby Parure, choosing to complete her outfit with a ruby brooch as well as a pair of Gianvito Rossi mesh insert suede pumps in black.

The couple were all smiles from start to finish - a fitting way to celebrate a ceremony that was originally established in 2004 as a wedding gift from the Bikuben Foundation.
