Clayton Ronald Williams, 18, of Wallasey, (pictured left in a prison van and bottom right at a party) appeared in court today accused of murdering married father of two PC David Phillips with a stolen Mitsubishi pick-up truck on Merseyside on Monday. The teenager is also charged with attempted section 18 wounding against the murdered policeman's colleague PC Birkett as well as burglary and aggravated unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle. Phillip Stuart, of Prenton, Wirral, a one-armed 30-year-old believed to be the vehicle's passenger, has been charged with aggravated unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle and burglary. Both were remanded in custody. Yesterday PC Phillips' daughters Abi, seven, and Sophie, three, made a memorial video to celebrate the life of the 'best daddy in the world' and their mother Jen, 28, released a set of family photos taken shortly before his death (top right).

Russia launches CRUISE MISSILES at ISIS from warships 900 miles away

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu told Vladimir Putin in televised remarks that four warships based in the Caspian Sea had launched 26 strikes on 11 ISIS targets. Video released by the Russian Defence Ministry shows the warships firing a volley of 'Sizzler' cruise missiles (such as the one pictured) which Shoigu insisted destroyed all the intended targets and did not hit any civilian areas. It came as Syrian government troops launched a ground offensive Wednesday in the country's central region under the cover of Russian airstrikes.
