She's usually pampered to perfection before making any sort of public appearance.

But Taylor Swift revealed an unfortunate beauty blunder on Wednesday, as she stepped out in New York City.

The 25-year-old pop star may have been in a rush to get ready, as she didn't blend in her white under-eye concealer, resulting in a contouring fail for the usually preened pop princess.

Beauty blunder: Taylor Swift appeared to have a minor make-up mishap as she stepped out in New York City on Wednesday

The award-winning artist's face was noticeably lighter above her cheekbones, where she was perhaps trying to conceal tired eyes from her hectic jet-setting schedule.

Taylor, who has been on her 1989 World Tour, was also spotted without her signature scarlet lipstick, which was also a rarity.

The girlfriend of DJ Calvin Harris appeared city chic, ditching her preppy flair for a more sleek look.

Taylor accentuated her lean figure in a fitted black blouse which she tucked into a pair of black high-waisted trousers.

The blonde beauty added some height with a pair of black booties and wore her shoulder-length tresses styled straight.

The talented artist recently discussed the difficulties and pressures of being in the public limelight while chatting with NME magazine.

‘I'm in the news every single day for multiple different reasons,’ she explained. ‘And it can feel, at times, if you let your anxiety get the better of you, like everybody's waiting for you to really mess up – and then you'll be done.

'A lot of the time I need to call my mom and talk for a really long time, just to remind myself of all the things that are great and all the things that matter. If you do something that defines your character to be not what the public thought you were, that's the biggest risk.’

The American beauty was recently involved in a high-profile social media feud with Nicki Minaj.

Touching upon the misunderstanding, Taylor confessed: ‘I send text messages now. If there seems to be some kind of misunderstanding, I go to someone's management, I get their number and I text them. It's an important lesson for anyone to learn in 2015.’

Meanwhile, it has been six years since Taylor's big moment at the MTV Video Music Awards was famously ruined by Kanye West.
