As far as lookalike mothers and daughters go, Christina Milian and her little girl Violet are about as uncanny as the come.

The 34-year-old singer was seen walking hand-in-hand with her cute tot as they stepped out for dinner at Beso restaurant in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

Unknowingly attending a surprise party, the mother-daughter duo showed off their striking resemblance as they each smiled a teeth-filled grin.

Her raven locks were worn in a slick back style, ensuring her pretty face, which had been made up with a subtle smokey eye and dewy lipstick, was the focal.

The 5ft 1in beauty elongated her petite frame with pointed black stilettos as she towered above her young daughter who tightly gripped her pink-manicured hand.

Meanwhile, the Be Cool actress - who this year launched her own reality series, Christina Milian: Turned Up - recently opened up to Parents Latina magazine about balancing her busy schedule with motherhood.

'It's about making the time I spend with Violet count. I'll take her to business meetings and interviews. Most people don't bring their kids to work with them, but I'm, like, I make my own rules!" she explained.

Christina also revealed that she has a lot of help from her mother Carmen, who is also her manager and business partner, as well as her sisters.

'I try to give Violet as much family time as possible, because it's her blood, and that's where we come from. That closeness has helped develop her amazing confidence,' the singer gushed.

Despite her split from her ex husband The-Dream - real name Terius Youngdell Nash - Christina also insisted that the rapper is still a big part of her daughter's life.

When asked about how she harmonises her dating life with being a single mother, she dished: 'Violet has a very involved dad [The-Dream], so she doesn't need anyone to replace him.'
