Talk about a rocky couple.

Kelly Bensimon was spotted out with her on-off boyfriend Nicholas Stefanov on Thursday - the first time they've been pictured together in two years.

The 47-year-old looked super casual in a grey sweatshirt, green baseball cap, yoga pants and flip flops.

Her 37-year-old companion would have looked a bit more stylish in his button down white shirt, green suede jacket and jeans, had he not too worn flip flops.

At one stage they looked like they were holding hands, only for Kelly to seeming pull away when she spotted photographers.

Kelly later told DailyMail.com she was 'happy to see Nick', but said they were not an item

'We have kept in touch over the years. I have chosen to forgive him a longtime ago but will never forget. I always wish him well,' she said.

The pair have had a very volatile relationship with the reality star was once arrested for assaulting her beau in 2009.

Police were called to her Manhattan apartment after the former model hit Nicholas during a fight.

The then 30-year-old was left with a black eye and cut to this cheek.

According to NY Daily News, the star made a deal with prosecutors that ensured her misdemeanour assault charge would be removed from her record after she completed community service.

At the time her younger boyfriend stated he hoped to get back with Kelly.

The real Housewives star then denied that they were dating.

Since that time the Bravo star had been dating handsome Alejandro Lorenzo from 2013 with the two last seen working out together in August 2014.

Prior to her much younger beaus, Kelly was married to famed photographer Gilles Bensimon who she divorced in 2007 after a 10-year marriage.

Despite Kelly claiming that she and Nicholas were not even dating when they had their fight - she insists they broke up in 2008 - outside the court Nicholas suggested to New York Daily News that the couple were engaged.

He said outside court they were just having a couple’s quarrel when she sucker punched him and it would have been alright if she "had the courtesy to take her (engagement) ring off first," the News reported, adding she also returned it to him that night.’

Bensimon denies ever being his fiancée.
