'He needs a reality check': Ellen Pompeo slams Daniel Craig's anti-Bond comments on Twitter... but is left eating her own words

Making a diagnosis without knowing all the facts is a sure-fire way for a doctor to lose her licence.

Ellen Pompeo slammed Daniel Craig on Twitter on Thursday before admitting she hadn't a clue of the context of his comments.

On Wednesday the Spectre star made headlines when he told London's Time Out magazine that he would 'rather break this glass and slash my wrists,' rather than make another Bond film.

However anyone who read the full interview would know that he was merely joking about being exhausted from making the most recent one, and that he wouldn't want to jump into another immediately.

In fact, as the interview continues, he reveals he hasn't ruled out doing another Bond a couple of years down the line, although he admits it would 'only be for the money'.

But the 45-year-old Grey's Anatomy star wasn't impressed after she stopped at the wrist-slashing comment, tweeting: 'This dude needs a reality check'.

It wasn't until a couple of her followers pointed out on Twitter that there was a chance the 47-year-old hadn't literally chosen suicide over a reprise, and that the headline may not tell the full story, that she conceded she may have jumped to conclusions.

'You are absolutely right! I certainly have been there,' she admitted.

But instead of apologizing for not reading the full story herself, she simply humped the blame on 'the media'.

Throughout the original interview, the Brit actor spoke at length about how much of 'a drag' it is staying in good shape for Bond, how the studio were 'out of their f**king minds' to consider filming two back-to-back, and how the one thing he was looking most forward to since wrapping Spectre was a holiday.

So when the question came 'Can you imagine doing another Bond movie?' the response was expectedly abrupt.

'Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,' he joked. 'No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.’

But when asked if he wanted to move on from Bond 'for good', he was less adamant.

‘I haven’t given it any thought. For at least a year or two, I just don’t want to think about it,' he said.

'I don’t know what the next step is. I’ve no idea. Not because I’m trying to be cagey. Who the f**k knows? At the moment, we’ve done it. I’m not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money.’
