They'll have a ball! Ed Sheeran urges Prince Harry to go all out on the town with cricketer BFF Shane Warne when British royal arrives Down Under to train with Australian Army

They've been close pals for a year when they boogied together at a Kylie gig in Melbourne.

And now Ed Sheeran, 24, has advised BFF cricketer Shane Warne, 45, and Prince Harry, 30, to go all out on the town when he arrives in Sydney to train with the Australian Army for a month.

Speaking to Sunday's Sunrise show, the loveable red head offered his humble advice to the fifth in line to the British throne, saying: 'I reckon Prince Harry should go out with Shane Warne, he'll enjoy that.'

Telling the reporter 'that'll be a good time,' the I'm A Mess hitmaker smirked as memories of fun times with the retired spin bowler flashed across his mind.

And no doubt the playful prince, who shares Shane penchant for fun and frolics, will welcome a little light relief since the diary for his one-month secondment appears intense.

The Prince arrives in Sydney on Easter Monday and will begin his Australian tour with the laying of a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the War Memorial in Canberra.

Whilst Down Under Captain Wales will be attached to units in Darwin, Perth and Sydney training with the Special Air Service Regiment and in Darwin he'll head out with members of Norforce, the mostly indigenous unit that patrols northern Australia.

In Sydney, he joins the Holsworthy-based 6th Aviation Regiment and will train on helicopter simulators and possibly take part in flying operations.

Whether Prince Harry's and Ed's paths will cross remains to be seen since The Brit award winner has tour dates in Perth and New Zealand before he finishes in the antipodes on April 12.

Ed is currently writing his third album, expected for release next year, and told Sunrise he was not letting his world tour get in the way of it.

'I write all my songs now in hotel bathrooms because of the ambience,' he sad, adding: 'It sounds really nice. Everything sounds nice in the bathroom. The last 20 sings I've written have been in hotel bathrooms.'

'I wander in, stick my laptop down, type a few things, sing an bit, type a few more things down, sing a bit and record it. It's weird.'

He also revealed he dreams of having his own band but currently relies on the loop pedal to make acoustic guitar sound like a full band.

'I think I've found my USP, my unique selling point, in that thing because when I started on the singer-songwriter scene everyone did it but now I'm at this level,no one else is doing it,' he said.

'One day I'll get a band, there's no barrier with what you an do with loop station.'

At this year's Grammys, Ed was joined by an all-star group of musicians including Stevie Wonder's band.
