Aaron Ramsey's rugby playing countrymen celebrated their progression to the World Cup quarter-finals by watching a blistering performance by another team in red.

Jamie Roberts, Mike Phillips and James Hook travelled to the Emirates to cheer on Ramsey and the gunners as they blitzed Manchester United 3-0 to leapfrog them in the Premier League table.

Welsh spirits must be high at the moment, with the Rugby side embarrassing England at Twickenham and Ramsey, Gareth Bale and co on the verge of reaching a first major championship since 1958 – they'll be heading to Euro 2016 next summer with a point against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday.

Ramsey was pleased that the Welsh squad had chosen the Gunners 3-0 win over United to come and watch him play, and posted a picture with Roberts, Phillips and Hook on his Instagram account after the match.

In a video on his twitter account posted after the win, the Arsenal midfielder said: 'Delighted with the win today. I thought we deserved that.

'Now we'll meet up with our international teams and I'm looking forward to hopefully having a very successful week with Wales.

Roberts, Phillips, Hook and the rest of the Wales squad will look to take inspiration from Ramsey's display on Sunday into their Pool A table-topping match with Australia on Saturday.

The huge match at Twickenham would ensure a supposedly easier quarter-final match-up for Wales, and with Ramsey and co kicking-off in Bosnia three hours later, there could be a double celebration for the men in red.
