Parents back Kanye in rant about children's iPad security: Angry star hits out at in-app purchases after North accidentally racks up costs... and he's not the first to complain

Kanye West launched a tirade on Twitter about companies that include in-app purchases on games that kids play.

The rant was sparked by the rapper's two-year-old daughter North racking up some charges while playing games on an iPad.

'F*** any game company that puts in-app purchases on kids games!!!' the 38-year-old tweeted.

Daddy's not happy: Kanye West, seen with daughter North, two, last week in LA, blew a fuse on Twitter about how many in-app purchases the child was offered while playing a game on an iPad

'We give the iPad to our child and 'every 5 minutes there's a new purchase'!!!' he continued.

'If a game is made for a 2 year old, just allow them to have fun and give the parents a break for Christ sake.'

Ironically, Kanye was expressing the same frustration felt by parents about the in-app purchases on his wife Kim Kardashian's top selling game app Kim Kardashian's Hollywood.

Following the app's launch in 2014, the Twittersphere was full of moms and dads upset about how much money their children were spending playing the game in which Kim teaches you how to make the A-list.

While the app is free to download, players are offered the option of purchasing items that help them move faster and more successfully through the game.

The in-app purchase prices range from $3.99 to $39.99.

To date, it's believed revenues for the app stand at about $200 million, all of which has come from in-app purchases, according to TechCrunch.com

During an interview on NBC's Today in August last year, Kim made it clear that it's up to parents to monitor what their child is doing and to make sure their child can't make any unauthorized in-app purchases.

'You just have to make sure that your parental controls are all set,' the reality star told Matt Lauer.

'I think you just have to be responsible and don’t have your credit card linked to where your kid can just spend if they want to, or ask permission.'

Maybe Yeezy needs to pay attention to his wife more.

While he had some Twitter users agreeing with him - @dankois tweeted: '@kanyewest Kanye, many parents can relate to your plight. Would you like to be a guest on our parenting podcast?'

Others were quick to explain that his wife's app does the same thing and called him a hypocrite.

@joeypurple tweeted: '@kanyewest lol like ur wifes game? Do u have any idea how much actual $ kids put into #KimKardashianHollywood Im a fan but this is hypocrisy.'

And some of his followers pointed out that all he had to do was turn on the parental controls and also he could disable the settings for in-app purchases on the apps North was playing.
