Keep it chic in monochrome trousers from Somerset by Alice Temperley like Carole

Carole Middleton was spotted enjoying a spot of retail therapy in Chelsea wearing a super chic monochrome ensemble this week. Sporting diamond print trousers teamed with a white blouse and black blazer, Carole accessorized her look with a Tod’s leather bag and some block heel ballet pumps to browse high end childrenswear shop Trotters.

The most classic of color combinations, you really can’t go wrong with black and white, and these trousers are the perfect staple to update your wardrobe with this season. Such a versatile piece, they can be dressed up or down for work or play and would look equally good teamed with a blazer and heels for office appropriate vibes, as they would with a simple tee and sandals for an off-duty weekend look.

They’re from Alice Temperley’s diffusion line, Somerset, and are available to buy at John Lewis- just follow the link on the right to get them now! Or if you fancy shopping around a bit first, check out our edit of alternatives in the carousel below. Now, we can’t wait to see what Carole bought her grandchildren!

It's a brand favoured by the Royals and it became well-known when Prince George was photographed wearing its garments.

The former flight attendant, and grandmother to the future heir to the throne, looked stylish as she stepped out on King's Road wearing patterned trousers and a black blazer.

She was seen looking into the window of the store, which describes it's clothing as 'exclusive, yet affordable: stylish yet traditional', before going inside.

Mrs Middleton, 60, came out shortly after with a Trotters bag - although it's not clear exactly what she bought or whether it was for baby Charlotte.

London-based Trotters recently unveiled the 'New Born Baby Collection' ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's new arrival.

The range included boy's T-shirts and romper suits, complete with Bearskin hat-wearing soldiers, and pretty smocked dresses and pink cardigans for girls.

Sophie Mirman, founder and CEO of Trotters, previously said: 'As a small family business, it is not only a great honour but also a great morale booster for my staff and the manufacturers for Trotters.

'Clearly the commercial impact is considerable and it is wonderful that Her Royal Highness supports British businesses.'

Her daughter Kate was at an event in Harrow, north west London, with her husband Prince William to mark World Mental Health Day today.
