Real Housewives of New York City star Heather Thomson is setting the record straight - her marriage is not in trouble.

The 44-year-old reality star surprised fans a few weeks ago when she announced she was leaving the show after three seasons.

Thomson revealed in a statement to Entertainment Tonight that she has to 'focus on the things that are really, really important in my life.'

Soon after that, a story surfaced on OK! Magazine's website claiming the reason she 'called it quits was to avoid watching her marital issues [with husband Jonathan Schindler] air on the small screen.'

Matt Richards, who runs RealMrHousewife.com, spoke to Thomson exclusively about this story and shared what she said - along with an exclusive photo of the couple, looking extremely happy- with Daily Mail Online.

'Jonathan and I are perfectly fine,' Thomson said. 'We are in our 12th year of marriage. We are happily raising our family together.'

'There is no truth to rumored problems,' she continued.

'Someone actually called my publicist for a comment and he advised the rumors were simply not true but folks decided to run with the gossip anyway. You can imagine we were cracking up when it ran.'

Thomson also addressed her departing the show, explaining that, 'We are happily moving on from RHONYC just as happily as we entered into the opportunity.

'It was time to move on. And for just that reason- time. And how quickly it goes and how much of my time the show requires.

'Change is often difficult but positive,' she added.

'This decision was easy because it was the right time for me and my family. It's not about trouble. It's about prioritizing my time. We all get the same 24 hours in a day it's just up to us each individually how we want to use it.'

Thomson wrapped with saying that she's 'excited to have the kids back in school and looking forward to the new year and new discoveries ahead, happily together along side my hot man!'

The mother of two is the founder of the shapewear company Yummie, which manufactures body-shaping jeans and tops.

It has estimated retail sales around $60 million.

Thomson's spats with fellow RHONYC cast member Bethenny Frankel have dominated the series.

And Season seven didn't disappoint - during the ladies' vacation in Turks and Caicos, Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps both brought men back to spend the night - with at least one of the men being married.

Thomson and Carole Radziwill completely freaked out after finding one of the men naked in bed in the room connected to their own room, insisting it put them at risk.

'Who knows what he was doing - he could've been looking at us while we were sleeping,' Heather told Carole, telling her to also check that none of her valuables were missing.

Season seven wrapped up earlier this month. There is no official word yet on which of the ladies will definitely be back for Season eight.
