Police say a 23-year-old man robbed a store in Maryland at gunpoint before trying to flee the scene in an Uber car.

Dashawn Terrell Cochran was at a store just outside of Baltimore on Wednesday morning when he brought a bottle of Tylenol cold medicine to the counter.

The Baltimore County Police Department say he pointed a gun at a store employee and demanded that he give him money.

Cochran left with a pile of cash, though police did not reveal how much.

He was spotted getting into the back of a silver Lexus which was later pulled over by police.

The driver of the car said that he worked for Uber that he had just picked up Cochran and another passenger.

Both the driver and the other passenger said they had nothing to do with the robbery and they were both released.

Cochran was taken into custody, charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and theft less than $10,000, reports ABC.

He is being held on $500,000 bail.

Officers arrested Cochran within 30 minutes of the robbery call, according to the police department.
