They're usually running from something, but this time the cast of The Walking Dead took a slightly slower pace as they strolled the red carpet

TWD star Lauren Cohan, 33, made a big impression, as did co-star Danai Gurira, 37, at the season 6 fan premiere event at Madison Square Garden in New York.

All the stars, plus a few others showed up for the festivities Friday night.

Lauren, who plays Maggie Greene in the critically acclaimed show, showed up in a glamorous strapless fitted sheath-style dress with an asymmetrical hem that framed her shapely gams.

The striking, almost haunting, black and white botanical print seemed to fit the atmosphere perfectly.

She rounded out her outfit with some playful black strappy high heeled sandals.

Her brunette tresses were styled into a classy throwback do that would've been right at home in vintage Hollywood.

Co-star Danai, who plays the blade wielding Michonne in the series, wowed with her own elegant ensemble.

She went with a strapless floor length ball gown with a fuchsia botanical printed bodice and flowing dark blue taffeta skirt element.

Another star from the show, Christian Serratos, 25, also chose to go sophisticated with her own strapless floor-length number with a flattering and shapely v-neck bodice, and a thin black belt accenting her slim waist.

Alexandra Breckenridge, 33, also followed the full length gown trend, going with a simpler round-neck sleeveless design with red flowers on a black background.

The front to back asymmetrical hem revealed her chic, black pointed-toe pumps.

Sonequa Martin-Green, 30, made an appearance as well,also in a full-length gown, but it featured a sexy sheer panel in the dress portion, hinting at the actresses long, slim legs.

The event was so epic that Yahoo reports, its stars attended a rehearsal that afternoon to prepare.

Adding: 'The event, which awarded fans with tickets via giveaways and sweepstakes, screened the season premiere and then held a panel with 18 cast members.'

Of course many of the male stars, including Andrew Lincoln, 42, Norman Reedus, 46, Chandler Riggs, 16, and Steven Yeun, 31, among many others were also on hand, and most opted for simple, classic tuxedo attire, but Michael Cudlitz had different ideas.

As the show has grown in popularity, each character has developed a following of his or her own.

Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, recently was interviewed by Details Magazine and asked about how the show has changed over the course of the first five seasons.

'The dynamic has changed. In Season 1, it was ‘Here’s some clay, mold it into something.’ Season 2, it’s ‘Okay, here’s the mold—we’re all sharing ideas on how big the hands should be.’ And then Season 3: ‘He may or may not have long or short hair,’ and a bunch of people are making that decision.'

He added that the show is so deep, he wishes it would never end, 'I would play this role until I’m 80' he responded, 'I really would. And I could.'

The Walking Dead is about to enter it's 6th season of following the exploits of a band of survivors fighting off waves of the undead, and still manages to captivate millions of viewers.

Season 6 premieres on Sunday at 9pm on AMC.
