'Thank you for not turning away': Woman assaulted by a man on a night bus launches viral Facebook hunt for the 'dapper' Good Samaritan who stood in to protect her

A woman who claims she was 'grabbed' by a man on a bus last week is trying to track down the Good Samaritan who intercepted and stood up for her.
Kaitlyn Regehr, a Toronto-born broadcaster, filmmaker and burlesque expert based in London, shared a photo of herself holding a sign that reads 'thank you!' to her Facebook page, along with a lengthy tribute to the mystery 'tall, dark, and dapper' stranger.
The post, which has been 'liked' by more than 45,000 people, reads: 'To the man on the 207 bus towards Acton last night... Thank you for saying something when that man grabbed me. Thank you for insisting that it was not acceptable.'

Evidently the man in question gave the assailant a good talking to about assaulting Kaitlyn.
The post continues: 'Most of all, thank you for asking him about the women in his life, his mother, his sister... You said, "She could be your sister. She is someone's sister", and in doing so you made me a person. You made us a community.
'I thank you not just because you stood up for me, or because you made me feel safe, but because on your transit home - in this big, potentially anonymous city - you humanised assault. You didn't turn away. You took a stand. You said something.'
Katilyn added: 'Please, let's all endeavour to "say something", please share, and please help me find this awesome dude so I can buy him a pint!'

Her request was quickly met by more than 23,000 Facebook users, who praised the stranger's gallant behaviour.
'This is touching!' one wrote.
'There are heroes all around us,' another commented.
According to Kaitlyn's website, she is 'a writer, broadcaster and award-winning documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on contemporary culture'.
She was also a co-host of a Canadian TV show on Slice Network, lending her expertise in the art of burlesque.
Kaitlyn is currently an alumna of The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and King’s College London, where she is completing a PhD in performance studies.

According to Transport For London, one in ten Londoners have experienced unwanted sexual behaviour on public transport, but 90 percent of these incidents go unreported.
A statement on their website reads: 'You don’t have to prove that it was a criminal offence or intentional to report it, we can investigate that for you.
'No incident is too small or trivial. Our officers are trained to deal with these sort of cases. We will treat you with respect and dignity.
'You will always be believed and you will always be taken seriously.'
