Known for their innovative brand of humour, Rebel Wilson and Sacha Baron Cohen are arguably two of the funnier celebrities in Hollywood.

But when joining forces for their latest flick Grimsby, getting up close and personal with each other was no laughing matter for the stars.

Speaking to news.com.au, 35-year-old Rebel described filming sex scenes with the 43-year-old husband of actress Isla Fisher as 'disgusting'.

'I had a sex scene with Sacha Baron Cohen and it was just the most disgusting thing ever,' she told the publication while attending LA Fashion Week over the weekend.

In August last year Rebel and Sacha were spotted locking lips while filming scenes for the movie in Cape Town, South Africa.

Grimsby, scheduled for release in 2015, stars Sacha as a dimwit supporter of lower league team Grimsby Town.

The Borat joker has so far filmed scenes across the North of England in Scunthorpe, Hull and Newcastle.

Despite its light-hearted theme the film has caused outrage among Grimsby residents, as their town is being portayed, as a grubby, violent ghetto, with drunks urinating from windows and mothers offering cans of beer to toddlers.

Mark Strong is playing a James Bond-style covert ops agent forced to go on the run with his estranged brother, who happens to be a football hooligan.

Annabelle Wallis, who starred in TV's Peaky Blinders, plays Sacha’s girlfriend, while the 42-year-old actor's real-life wife Isla Fisher has been cast in a mystery role.

Sacha is co-producing the film and has written the screenplay with the help of Phil Johnston and Peter Baynham.

Good times: Rebel made an appearance at LA Fashion Week over the weekend, posing for snaps with Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Julie Bishope and actor Hugh Sheridan

Meanwhile in an interview with The Australian Women's Weekly earlier this year, Pitch Perfect star Rebel revealed her character Dawn would don a burqa in one scene.

However the Sydney local insisted it’s all in the name of comedy and she doesn't want to ruffle any feathers.

‘Obviously, I don’t mean any offence to Muslims. I asked my Muslim friend “Do you think this is alright, to tell the joke we’re telling?” And she said yeah,’ Rebel told the publication.

‘But she’s pretty liberal and lives in New York so who knows? But it is a joke and no offence meant,’ she added.
