A fault in his footwork! An overexcited Ansel Elgort takes a dive as he watches hockey game with lovebirds Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid
He was born and bred in New York, so it can come as no shock that this star is die hard - or in his case fall hard - Rangers fan.

There with a friend and sat near fellow stars Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid, the 21-year-old became the local team's unofficial mascot at Madison Square Garden.

The Fault In Our stars actor reacted to every goal, every save and pretty much every time the Rangers got the puck.
But jumping in and out of his seat almost knocked him out of the game completely, with the star coming very close to face planting.
As part of his wild celebrations, Ansel got up and attempted to jump over his seated friend, Alex Manon.
That was close: During the game, Ansel got up and attempted to jump over his seated friend but overestimated his abilities almost falling down the stairs

Halftime snap: The 21-year-old did find a spare second to snap a selfie with pal Alex Manon
Of course, he is an actor and not an athlete so the maneuver did not go as planned with the star falling forward onto the stairs.
The hand railing was the only thing that stopped him tumbling down but also nearly smacked him in his face.
His antics certainly left his seatmate Alex in hysterics but lovebirds Gigi and Joe looked on slightly bemused.
Bro dance: As the Rangers scored one of their five goals, The Divergent star and his friend could not contain themselves, standing up before jumping up and down hugging

Let's do this: A cameraman filming for the jumbotron also noticed Ansel's antics and went over to the film the star who was all too happy to ham it up to get the rest of the crowd pumped

Joe and Gigi were a little bit more restrained with the pair and their friends sitting a row down from the Rangers superfan for the home opener.
Not your thing: Gigi got excited by the action in the ice but at times seemed to zone out
Missed the memo: The model skipped wearing a Rangers jersey, instead opting for a stylish rugged up look consisting of a long wool trench coat, tight blue jeans and a plaid scarf which at least had a hint of blue
Gold clap: While Ansel could not stay in his seat every time his team made a move, the model politely clapped
In fact, Gigi seemed to be a little bored at times yawning away and having more fun chatting with her friend Cully Smoller.
