Jennifer Aniston keeps a low profile as outraged fans continue to berate Friends star for Emirates ad

With a net worth of over $150million, Jennifer Aniston must be wondering if her Emirates airline ad was worth the $5million payoff.

The 46-year-old actress was spotted out and about in New York City, just days after her luxury airline ad debuted on YouTube Monday which outraged fans.

The 'snooty' ad shows Jennifer as she realises her plane has 'no shower and no bar,' before she faints from the shock to discover it was all just a terrible dream.

Kick about in some classic Converse

Jennifer Aniston is the queen of smart casual.

The former Friends actress can knock it out of the park on the red carpet too, of course, but she's really got that luxe take on laid back dressing nailed. In a series of cosy cashmere, tailored blazers, designer jeans, fedoras, scarves and boots, Jen manages to look expensive even when she's on a dressed down day.

And this look is classic Aniston. The slightly distressed jeans, grey knit and black jacket combine to create her signature look and of course who can resist a pair of Converse trainers?

Every style maven from Alexa Chung to Beyonce and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to Rihanna have got a pair so if you haven't joined the gang then now's the time. Click (right) to buy Jennifer's 'Jack Purcell' sneakers and work them with denim, flares and leather skirts this autumn.

The Wanderlust actress kept her head down while briskly making her way around town amidst a firestorm of backlash surrounding her recent Emirates ad, for which she has been named the brand's ambassador.

'This shows how disconnected from reality [these] corporations [are]. Their target audience is definitely not around this part of the web,' a YouTube user complained.

Another commented 'I shower like a poor person. F***!' while a different user wrote: 'Snobbiest ad ever. Talk about first world 1%'er problems.'

Unfazed, the Friends star took to the streets on Sunday wearing distressed denim jeans, a charcoal grey blouse and black fitted blazer with gold clasps.

The Office Space actress kept her honey, wavy locks down flowing past her shoulders and kept concealed behind a pair of aviator sunglasses.

Aniston completed her street style with white sneakers, black shoulder bag but did not seem to be wearing any jewelry.

She was spotted carrying her gold iPhone, chic tortoise shell glasses and a notebook of paperwork as she made her way through the city.

The luxury commercial airliner championed by Jennifer is based in Dubai and is the world's largest international carrier.

The ad features Aniston having a nightmare in which she is stuck on a generic U.S. airlines flight and seemed disgusted as the plane lacked a proper shower and full bar.

The advert continued as Jennifer woke up from her nightmare and found herself safe and sound in the comfort of her private bunk complete with fluffy white pillows and gold trimmed nightstand.

She is then seen at the plane's cocktail bar as she sipped on a martini while whining to the bartender about her awful experience.

'It was a nightmare, I was on a plane and it was nothing like this.'

A first-class round trip ticket on Emirates from New York to Dubai costs around $25,000.
