She may have a new well-being book on the shelves, but that wasn't the reason Nigella Lawson was glowing on Sunday.

The famous foodie was looking happy and healthy after hitting Four Hair Salon for a little pampering at the weekend.

A smiling Nigella, 55, went make-up free for her beauty appointment just days after admitting that she previously used make-up to hide her recent marital heartbreak.

The chef, who has been busy promoting new book Simply Nigella, was taking some time out for herself at the weekend.

She carried a pink shopping bag and seemed to have reinvigorated her image with a few inches off the ends of her glossy raven tresses.

The slimline television star cut a low-key silhouette in a black jacket and matching cigarette-cut suit trousers with platform boots to match.

Nigella's complexion was blemish-free, despite the lack of visible product used to enhance her appearance.

It seems that Nigella is finally ready to shed her make-up 'mask' having just this week reflected on how she dealt with the media attention surrounding her divorce from Charles Saatchi as a cover up.

Speaking to Women's Hour, she admitted that she used enhanced make-up to disguise her inner suffering at the court hearing in 2013.

'With the help of a make-up artist, frankly,' she explained. 'Sometimes a mask is helpful but most times in my life I prefer not to have a mask.

'I'm not an enormously guarded person, I mind that I have to become more guarded and I think it's important not to be.

'You're right I have had a tough time and very much in the public eye and what it's made me realise is how much I have to preserve my privacy. I have never spoken publicly, I don't really think it's ever seemly to discuss private matters out loud.

'I had to when I was in court so I've said everything in court and I have no desire to be fanning the gossip machine ever again.'
