A tweet a month later read: 'Thank you for your outpouring of support and for standing by me through this most difficult time. Love love love you all!'

The 43-year-old's run-in with the guards appeared to come closer to the description of what her reality behind bars is like as her attorney James J. Leonard told cameras, 'This is not a country club, this is not a day in the park for her, you know, she's in prison'.

However, during Sunday's episode, her husband Joe Giudice, 43, likened prison to a 'low-budget spa' and Gia said her mom has been 'more relaxed' since serving her 15-month sentence for fraud, according to People.

‘When I go see my mom she’s so relaxed, there’s no bags under her eyes, she’s so positive…she looks so much better,' Gia said.

During her 10 months away in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, the reality star has a 300-minute limit on phone time, unlimited email access but no access to the Internet.

She has reportedly taken a job in the kitchen at the prison and is also teaching exercise classes as she copes with life behind bars until her December 23 release. She is predicted to return to the new series of the Bravo reality show shortly afterwards.

Gia said during the show that her mom told daughters 10-year-old Gabriella and six-year-old Audriana that she is 'working' during her time away and that she is documenting her experiences for an upcoming book, according to People.

Sunday's episode of Teresa Checks In opened on June 18, 2015 - six months into Teresa’s sentence - an especially hard day for Joe Guidice since it was the anniversary of his father's passing, as well as his daughter Gia’s 8th Grade Formal dance.

Despite being locked up, his wife was still controlling the family, organizing food, balloons, decorations and even her daughter's make-up for the party.

‘It’s amazing how she still runs the house,’ mused Joe, while refusing to use the word ‘prison’.

The preview of next week's special, which premiered on Sunday, was aired during What What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen who was joined by by Joe Giudice and Joe Gorga as they discussed Teresa's current incarceration.

The show documents the family's troubles since Teresa was locked up.

While speaking to Cohen during Watch What Happens Live, Joe Giudice revealed that he has not had a single conjugal visit with his wife since she was imprisoned and has been forced to rely on surreptitious groping while the prison guards look away during visits.

'I get to feel her a little bit here and there…and I get yelled at by the guards,' smiled Giudice, 43, who must serve his own jail sentence next year when his wife is released.

When asked by Cohen how he was coping with childcare Joe Giudice said: 'Every day is a tough day without her around'.

'I never used to have to get up early and get them ready for school and all that, but you gotta adapt,' he said.

As he described the sale or possible foreclosure of their opulent New Jersey mansion, Giudice said that they may need to 'downsize' after he's out of prison.

Joe Juidice will head to prison around March next year to serve a 42-month sentence for fraud, a concurrent 12-month sentence for failing to file a federal tax return in 2004 and possibly faces deportation once he finishes serving time in prison.
