There's always one black sheep in the family.

Kylie Jenner proved to be the little white sheep on Monday as she made a departure from her black-clad family in a little dove grey dress while Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian along with mother Kris all plumped for matching outfits.

The 18-year-old joked that she'd been left out of the sartorial memo about Cosmopolitan's 50th birthday bash at Ysabel in West Hollywood, as the women of her family were all in sync on arrival.

Oops: Kylie Jenner admitted that she'd become the black sheep of the Kardashian family by wearing a white ensemble to Cosmopolitan's 50th birthday bash on Monday night, while her siblings co-ordinated

Kylie stood out in a soft and slouchy ensemble and matching cream-coloured coat as she arrived at the magazine party.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wrote on Instagram: 'I didn't get the 'wear all black' email,' playfully hinting that her sisters regularly co-ordinate before an event.

She capped off the look with a chic shoulder bag and a pair of dainty diamonte sandals, opting for a more youthful look than her sisters with her legs on show.

The teenager also made a departure from her natural raven tresses - the hue she shares with the other women in her family - by wearing a blonde wig that she explained was for 'one night only.'

The colour chameleon, since turning 18, hasn't stuck to one hair colour for more than a few days at a time and is known for her ever-evolving style.

Though older half-sisters Khloe, Kourtney (and a very pregnant) Kim all seemed to have found their signature style, and like most women, have confirmed that black is both safe and endlessly chic.

On the night, Kylie was without her other half, big sister Kendall, as the five-piece walked the red carpet to celebrate Cosmopolitan's big birthday.

Gracing the front of Cosmopolitan's 50th birthday issue this November, the girls come together as a full line-up for their first magazine cover in years.

And, in the cover interview, Kendall speaks candidly about her younger sister Kylie, who has just turned 18, hinting that she's gaining a reputation for wanting to stand out.

'She's a Leo so she loves attention,' Kendall explained. 'And at certain points when we were younger, it bothered her that I was getting attention in terms of my modelling.

Later on, the brunette hinted that she and Kylie have become quite distinct from their big sisters saying: 'Kylie and I are both pretty brave – much braver than the Kardashians. We have the Jenner in us.'
