Here come the girls! Chic Halle Berry keeps it casual in a neutral linen ensemble as she hits the shops with female friends

She may have recently had her TV series, Extant, cancelled.

But Halle Berry clearly wasn't letting that get her down - as she proved when she stepped out for a shopping trip with three female friends on Monday afternoon.

The brunette beauty, 49, was seen in Los Angeles' Melrose Place for the jaunt, where she'd clearly indulged in some retail therapy.

The Hollywood star cut a casual figure as she sported a pair of linen trousers with a matching shirt for the shopping spree.

Going make-up free, the Academy Award-winning actress looked remarkably youthful for her age - in part thanks to blonde highlights framing her face.

Capping the look with a golden pair of L*Space by Cocobelle Milano sandals, she was clearly making the most of the remaining warm weather in California.

Draping her arm around one of her pals, the mother-of-two certainly had a spring in her step as they laughed and joked.

Clutching her purse and a $20 bill, the partner of Olivier Martinez was enjoying some well-earned down-time away from her partner and children.

The carefree sighting comes just days after Berry's sci-fi series was cancelled by CBS after two seasons on the network.

'I am so proud of what we accomplished on Extant,' the star gushed of the series, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

And Halle will continue to work with CBS, as she will be executive producing an upcoming legal drama as part of her two-year overall deal with CBSTVS for her signing on to star in Extant.

'This season seemed such a natural place to end Molly’s journey that I, along with CBS, felt it best served the story to leave it there,' Halle explained.

The mother-of-two continued: 'I’ve loved this experience working with such a talented cast and creative team. ‎It was my first foray into episodic television, and I’m excited to continue my relationship with CBS, producing more compelling stories through my 606 Films production banner.'

The cancellation of the summer series, which also starred Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Tyler Hilton, and Grace Gummer, follows a change of showrunners for season two.

Elizabeth Kruger and Craig Shapiro partnered with creator Mickey Fisher to focus the series more on Halle, as former showrunner Greg Walker left to work on Showtime's drama The Fear.

However, despite the shakeup - and profitable deal streaming with Amazon - the series returned to low numbers.

CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller gushed of the series' season two end, much like Halle, saying: 'CBS, Halle Berry and the producers have decided to conclude the story after last season’s exciting and fitting conclusion.'

He added: 'Extant played an important role in expanding CBS’ lineup of original scripted programming in the summer. We are proud of the show’s success on the network, as well as its popularity on Amazon Prime Video.'
