Shia LaBeouf accused of 'verbally abusing' Texas police officer who arrested star for public intoxication in F-word tirade

Shia LaBeouf was verbally aggressive and confrontational towards the police officer who arrested him for public intoxication Friday night in Austin, Texas.

According to the arrest affidavit, the Hollywood actor said he's usually 'let go' by cops because 'police had killed a friend of his.'

Then the allegedly drunken star three times called the officer a 'silly man,' according to the Austin news website Statesman.com.

LaBeouf, 29, was jaywalking in downtown Austin at about 7:30 p.m. with two women, aged 18 and 20, the Statesman.com reported.

After crossing an intersection against the light and in front of a police vehicle, he was stopped by an officer who smelled alcohol on the actor.

He also stated that the Transformers star's speech 'was slurred...and his eyes were glassy and dilated.'

As he became more agitated, LaBeouf began threatening an onlooker who was recording the scene on cell phone video.

The cop said he was forced to intervene to protect the bystander at which point the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps star got in his face and challenged him to 'do whatever the f*** you gotta do.'

He was then arrested and handcuffed for being 'a danger to himself and others' and charged with public intoxication, a misdemeanor.

He was booked into a local jail and later released.

It's the latest run-in with the law for the star.

LaBeouf spent a stint in rehab last November after New York police arrested him in June 2014 for disorderly conduct. 

After refusing to leave a Broadway play, he spat at a cop and used obscene language.
