Lamar Odom 'between life and death' as Khloe Kardashian's NBA star ex lies in coma

The former NBA star (center) is reportedly suffering from heart failure after being discovered unconscious with liquid coming from his mouth at the Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nevada, (bottom right.) He had spent the last four days partying, drinking cognac and taking pills containing a herbal Viagra substitute at the venue, where he had been staying alone. According to the brothel's owner Dennis Hoff, he was found unresponsive by ranch workers Ryder Cherry and Monica Monroe (both top right) who immediately called for a manager and he was taken to hospital. The Nye County Sheriff's Department said he was then taken by another ambulance to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas because he was too tall at 6'10" to be airlifted. Odom's ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, (bottom left with the star), is said to be 'inconsolable' and has rushed to his bedside along with her sister Kim Kardashian West , and mother Kris Jenner. His ex-team mate at the LA Lakers Kobe Bryant was also seen arriving at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas (top left) to visit Odom who is in a coma and is also suffering problems with his liver and kidneys. The troubled star's NBA career has deteriorated over the past few years and his use of hardcore recreational drugs was blamed for the collapse of his marriage to Khloe. Odom has two children from a previous relationship with Liza Morales; Destiny, 17, and 13-year-old Lamar Jr.

Former 'sicario' cartel hitmen reveal gruesome reality of killing for £20 a time

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT - Israel Hinosa, a former cartel 'sicario' (inset, dead sicarios on the streets of Mexico) - or hitman - has told MailOnline how Mexican gangs are recruiting desperate men deported from the US and turning them into killers. Israel was one of the hundreds of thousands of Mexican-born people who have been deported back to their country of birth for committing a crime on US soil. Many of these men turn to drugs in their desperation and hopelessness, which makes them perfect recruits for cartels who offer them money and power. During his four-year employment with the Sinaloa cartel, Israel kidnapped innocent people and extorted their families, defended their turf against rival gangs, set up burning blockades on the city's streets to attack the Mexican police and assassinated anyone who got in the way of cartel business. Another ex-cartel member, Mario Vallarino (left), told MailOnline how the life of a killer is made to look glamorous, 'but there's no glory in death, in either killing or being killed'. The inner-workings of the narcotrafficking industry they both worked in is laid bare in the upcoming Hollywood movie starring Emily Blunt (right) and Oscar-nominated actor Benecio Del Toro.

Billy the Kid found in junk shop photo bought for $1 now worth $5m

From afar, the picture looks likes a genteel group taking part in the upper-class pastime of croquet, but upon closer examination it becomes obvious that this lot would never get an invitation to the country club. The photo (right with owner) was recently authenticated as the second known picture of Wild West outlaw Billy the Kid (left zoomed in photo) - the gunslinger who claimed to have killed 21 men and who was the most notorious member of the Regulators gang. The journey to get the picture authenticated will now be the focus of a National Geographic special that airs this Sunday and details the years of hard work it took to prove that it was indeed the famous outlaw in the photograph. The work paid off however, as the photo - which sold for less than a dollar at a junk shop in 2010 - is now worth a staggering $5million.
