She's been equally open about her fertility struggles so it was with great delight that Chrissy Teigen took to social media on Monday to reveal she and John Legend are expecting their first child.

The All of Me singer and the supermodel announced the exciting news via Teigen’s Instagram saying that she ‘looks forward to all the belly touching!'.

In light of the couple's happy news, one company has mocked up concept images of how their baby may look.

The Sports Illustrated cover girl has been open about her fertility struggles.

The news comes just a month after the model revealed in an episode of her new show, FABLife, that the couple had been trying for years to have a child so had turned to fertility doctors for help.

She told co-host Tyra Banks on September 17: 'I will say honestly John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it happened.

'But my gosh it's been a process. We've seen fertility doctors and once you open up about those things to other people you learn that a lot of other people in your life are seeing these people and they have this shame about it.'

The beauty said it was painful when people questioned her about when she and John are going to start a family.

'It's kind of crazy because I can't imagine being that nosy to be like, ''So, when are the kids coming?'' because who knows what somebody's going through,' she said.

'So anytime somebody asks if I'm going to have kids I'm just like, ''One day you're going to ask that to the wrong girl who is really struggling and it's going to be really hurtful to them and I hate that. Stop asking me.'''

Her frank discussion led to Tyra breaking down in tears and revealing she has desperately wanted a child but has been unable to have a family.

Chrissy and John met on the set of his music video Stereo in 2007 and while they had a brief romance, things took a while to get serious.

However, once it did there was no stopping them and the couple walked down the aisle in September 2013 in Lake Como, Italy.

Meanwhile John co-hosted a screening of Beasts of No Nation at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, with Ben Affleck.

The All of Me singer donned a checked grey suit to see the American war drama, which already has Idris Elba tipped for an Oscar.
