Jessica Chastain took a bit of a fashion risk on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old actress wore a tight blue dress that had some interesting accents as she headed to Live With Kelly & Michael in New York City to promote her new movie Crimson Peak.

It looked as if someone had gone wild with a pair of scissors on the neckline and shoulders as there were unusual cut outs here and there.

The flawless star looked fit in her calf-length powder blue pencil dress.

The 1950's inspired frock complimented her shape while the bright color accented her red hair.

The Zero Dark Thirty actress added silver earrings and unique strappy heels for her Today show interview earlier in the day.

The navy-colored heels featured a beaded ombre tassel on the back of the shoe that swung as she walked.

Her vibrant red hair was loose with a deep side part, slightly curled. Her makeup was soft and feminine, with matte pink lips, rosy cheeks and smokey lids.

The horror film Crimson Peak, out Friday, is about an aspiring author, Edith Cushing, played by Mia Wasikowska, who marries a man named Thomas Sharpe (played by Tom Hiddleston).

While The Help actress is on a whirlwind promotional tour for Crimson Peak, she does find time to relax, posing for a photo yesterday with her longtime boyfriend, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, for her friend's Instagram.
