The No Doubt musician was so annoyed that she stood up to hurl litter at Blake’s head threatening: ‘He’s going to get it’.

Their feud was over Ivonne Acero, 17, who had been rejected by Pharrell Williams but was free for the taking.

Ivonne, from Arizona, had been pitted against another teenage girl Siahna Im, 15, from Washington.

They did the 1967 Motown track Keep Me Hangin' On by The Supremes.

Gwen and Blake both made a spirited bid for Ivonne who works on a cantaloupe melon farm.

‘You haven’t even thought of anything good to say, you’re just sitting there staring at her like a freak, what is wrong with you?’ Blake jibed to Gwen, trying to throw her off guard.

‘You were always meant to be on my team,’ Gwen pleaded to the young talent.

Newly bald Adam Levine, 36,has been enduring myriad jokes about his haircut from Blake who has compared him to everyone from Gandhi to Dr. Evil.

In retaliation Adam stood up to intervene, first pointing to Gwen and saying ‘angel’ and then to Blake branding him a ‘devil’.

‘Think about it, now you get the opportunity to work with a woman,’ added Gwen, who said she’d download all her material to share with the budding starlet.

‘Blake doesn’t even have the Internet, he’s from Oklahoma,’ quipped Adam.

‘We don’t have Internet but we have the radio, so I know a lot about music,’ responded the booze-loving musician.

‘Blake did not turn around for you, but Gwen did turn around for you,’ continued Adam, determined to sway the girl from his show rival.

‘I think there’s a world of potential for both of you,’ said the Maroon 5 frontman.

The song was part of the Battle Rounds on the popular NBC singing contest.

The first duel was from team Adam as Keith Semple, 33, from Chicago went against bald-headed Manny Cabo, 45, from New Jersey.

Irish rocker Keith said he wants to be a ‘good father by day and rock star by night’.

Manny, a fashion photographer, was challenged by the high notes in The Who’s Baba O’Riley.

‘Everyone is going to be comparing you to Roger Daltrey,’ warned John Fogerty, 70, of Creedence Clearwater Revival who is Adam's guest consultant.

The two men sang ‘wasted’ at the end instead of ‘wasteland’.

‘How did you you know I was wasted?’ quipped Blake, who also joked that Adam had stolen Manny’s haircut.

‘Except Adam looks a bit more like Sinead O’Connor,’ he giggled, before calling their song one of the best battles they’ve ‘ever had on the show’.

‘Really polished,’ agreed Adam, who picked Keith for his ‘beautiful high register’ as Manny was sent packing.
