Sticking with a winner! Sarah Silverman cuts an elegant figure as she recycles patterned crop top and skirt ensemble during busy day in New York

Being seen in the same outfit twice would be a fashion faux pas for most celebrities.

But Sarah Silverman broke the rules by recycling a classy black and white crop top and matching pencil skirt by as she stopped by The Late Show and then attended the premiere of her new drama I Smiled Back during a busy day inNew York on Tuesday.

The comedian, 44, flashed her midriff in the patterned alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet ensemble and smiled as she attended the film's premiere at the Museum of Modern Art.

The Masters of Sex actress has won rave reviews for her portrayal of a drug addicted New Jersey housewife in the drama.

Earlier on Tuesday, Sarah stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, hours after a new interview in which she discussed her battle with depression.

The former SNL star revealed she has suffered with the condition since she was 13 years old, and has relied on anti-depressants and therapy to cope.

However, the actress appeared to be in high spirits on Tuesday as she posed on the red carpet at the premiere.

Sarah struck a pose as she showed off her trim figure in the long-sleeved crop top and long skirt with matching black heels.

The We Are Miracles comedian wore her dark hair in a large updo, and added classic red lipstick.

Joining Sarah on the red carpet was her costar Josh Charles, who plays her husband Bruce, a self-help writer, in the movie.

The former Good Wife star went for a casual look in a black jacket, jeans and scuffed black sneakers.

Heading into Stephen Colbert's studios earlier, the 44-year-old waved to fans as she arrived, looking lovely.

Sarah is a big fan of Stephen's, and spoke about her 'love' for him to AV Club last year, revealing: 'I think he’s so special and he’s got so much heart ... He's a beautiful person.'

The comedian's visit to the late night talk show comes following the release of her latest interview with Glamour magazine, in which she spoke candidly about having battled clinical depression since she was a teenager.

Sarah bravely revealed that she takes a low maintenance dose of anti-depressant Zoloft every day and has a therapist - two things that help her function.

'I've lived with depression and learned to control it, or at least to ride the waves as best I can,' she said.

'The dark years and those ups and downs—chemical and otherwise—have always informed my work.'

The pretty brunette told the magazine she first experienced depression at 13.

She had just returned from a school camping trip, that she described as having been 'miserable,' and as she got off the bus, her mom was there to greet her and take photos.

'Seeing her made the stress of the last few days hit home, and something shifted inside me. It happened as fast as the sun going behind a cloud,' Silverman explained.

'I couldn't deal with being with my friends, I didn't go to school for months, and I started having panic attacks.'

For three years, she was on medication to treat the depression and the panic attacks that came with it.

When her stepfather asked her what being depressed felt like, she said she told him, 'It feels like I'm desperately homesick, but I'm home.'

At 16, after getting to the point where she was taking four Xanax pills up to four times a day and walking through life 'like a zombie', she found a new therapist who weaned her off the drugs.

And for a few years life was fine again. She enrolled in university in New York and was hired as a writer and performer on Saturday Night Live. Then the depression came back.

She was let go from SNL at the end of her first season and found herself on medication again to control her panic attacks.

She knows now that she's never really going to be free from the crippling condition.

'I eventually weaned off Klonopin, but to this day I have a bottle of seven pills in my backpack that I never touch because just knowing that they're there is all I need,' she revealed.

Silverman, who once dated Jimmy Kimmel and is now with actor Michael Sheen, still sees the funny side of her dark side.

'I still have downward spirals, days when I have to drag myself onstage to do stand-up or I'm just tweeting Morrissey lyrics from my bed,' she said. 'But there's one thing I know that I used to not know: It will pass. And it does.'

She added, 'You're playing the long game and life is totally worth it.'
