Chrissy Teigen announced she and husband John Legend were expecting their first child via social media the night before.

The 29-year-old mother-to-be didn't hold back when describing morning sickness and then what she ate for breakfast minutes later via Twitter on Tuesday.

Chrissy was clearly embracing those pregnancy cravings when she wrote about eating pizza in the morning.

'I have come to realize that at some point in the day, I will order and consume a pizza so it might as well be in the morning,' she shared philosophically.

Just minutes before that, Chrissy let everyone in on the morning sickness she's apparently relishing as well.

'I am so excited I could barf 4-5 times a day,' the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model wrote.

She's been equally open about her fertility struggles in the recent past.

So it was great delight that Chrissy took to social media late Monday to reveal she and John are expecting their first child.

The happy news comes just weeks after the model spoke of her heartbreak as was having problems conceiving.

The cover girl posted a sweet black and white shot of herself and her musician beau on Instagram to announce they are expecting their first child.

The star wrote: 'John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :).

'As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now.

'It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family.

The 39-year-old Oscar winner was getting in some 'belly touching' already, putting his hand on his wife's little bump as she lay on a couch.

Chrissy's happiness was very evident with the star boasting a massive smile on her face.

Her husband of two years shared the same snap with his social media followers and captioned it simply, 'We're Pregnant!'.

The news comes just a month after the model revealed in an episode of her new show, FABLife, that the couple had been trying for years to have a child so had turned to fertility doctors for help.

She told co-host Tyra Banks on September 17: 'I will say honestly John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it happened.

'But my gosh it's been a process.

'It's kind of crazy because I can't imagine being that nosy to be like, ''So, when are the kids coming?'' because who knows what somebody's going through,' she said.

While not obvious at the time, following Monday's announcement it was clear that Chrissy's use of past tense when discussing her struggles to conceive, most likely meant she already knew she was pregnant.

Chrissy and John meet on the set of his music video Stereo in 2007 and while they had a brief romance, things took a while to get serious.

But once it did there was no stopping them, with the couple walking down the aisle in September 2013 in Lake Como, Italy.

The couple has a big fan following as they are not afraid to poke a little fun at themselves.

Chrissy especially, often posts Instagram snaps and videos showing her love for junk food or unflattering snaps - something most models would not dear do.

The cookbook author also likes to post some very sexy snap shots on social medium too, with a topless picture recently getting her in a bit of trouble with Instagram.

While many now look to them as one of the most loved up couple's in Hollywood, it was not love at first site surprisingly.

John told LA Confidential Magazine: 'I wasn't like, "This is the woman I'm going to marry" from day one.

'For me I'm the kind of person who needs to grow into that feeling. It was probably a couple of years in when I could already see us being together forever.'

As he fell in love, the model became the musician's muse and served as inspiration for one of his greatest hits, All Of Me.

'The more you know someone, the more you're inspired by your relationship,' the Ordinary People crooner told the magazine.

'Also, I grew up just learning what it means to be in love with somebody... because I had never really been in love before. I guess you have to grow enough to be able to write that song with sincerity and authenticity.'
