The big finale to Renee Zellweger's first film as Bridget Jones saw her running through snowy London in her pants and little else.

But 14 years on, the iconic character appears to have grown up, as the 46-year-old actress was spotted shooting scenes in the capital on Tuesday, this time dragging a Christmas tree home through the snow-covered streets before reuniting with Colin Firth's Mark Darcy.

Renee was seen sporting a noticeable bump to shoot scenes for the hugely anticipated Bridget Jones' Baby, the third film based around Helen Fielding's beloved character.

The conclusion of the original 2001 film saw Bridget chasing after love interest Mark Darcy after he discovered her less than complimentary diary entries.

Dressed in her animal-print underwear and trainers, the character eventually catches up with the man of her dream, for a romantic kiss in the snow-covered streets.

Fast forward 14 years though, and on Tuesday US star Renee was filming some very different scenes in the snow, as she dragged a Christmas tree home, while sporting a sizable baby bump.

As well as Renee, Colin Firth has also been spotted shooting scenes for a return as Mark Darcy, Bridget's fiance at the conclusion of the second film Edge of Reason.

On Tuesday the two stars filmed scenes together as night fell, with Colin's character appearing to help Bridget as she struggled with her baby bump.

The scene for the upcoming Bridget Jones' Baby saw the congenial blonde slip some money to a homeless man in exchange for a copy of The Big Issue as she returned to her apartment.

Approaching the bearded gentleman in her typically sprightly spirit, the Chicago actress can be seen reaching into her purse before handing over money to the grateful gentleman.

While the actress has been pictured countless times on set sporting a faux baby bump, her latest scenes saw her flaunt her slender physique in a plunging navy lace dress.

Disheveled: Renee and her costume were looking a little haphazard as filming continued into the night

Each time, swiftly as she gained the curves, her weight plummeted to a sinewy size zero for the red carpet, and the blonde has maintained that size during the 14-year hiatus.

On yo-yo dieting again for the role, Renee said in 2007 that the extreme weight gain could kill her if she was to tackle it again.

She confessed: 'Can I just tell you my body is whacked by the time we finish one of those. It doesn't know what has happened because it thinks there's supposed to be a baby and there's no christening.'
