'I'd shag Viggo Mortensen': Cate Blanchett reveals which Lord of the Rings co-star she would get intimate with, and who is destined for the chopping block

She never got intimate with him on screen when they starred in Lord of the Rings together.

But Cate Blanchett has revealed she wouldn't have minded getting up close and personal with her co-star Viggo Mortensen while chatting to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

The 46-year-old star, who played the Queen of the Elves Galadriel in the epic trilogy, was playing a game of Shag, Marry, Kill on the TV show, which aired on Tuesday.

She told the host: ‘I’d shag Viggo Mortensen.'

The two-time Oscar winner was asked to choose between her former co-stars, Orlando Bloom, 38, Elijah Wood, 34, and Viggo Mortensen, 56.

‘Shag Viggo Mortensen,’ said the Australian actress, without hesitation.

Blanchett  then opted to kill Orlando Bloom and marry the youngest of the three, Elijah Wood.

In another cringe-worthy game the alabaster-skinned beauty was asked which leading man she’d chose for her next steamy love scene.

She dismissed George Clooney because he recently got married: ‘Not appropriate,’ she announced.

Alec Baldwin was also struck off the list.

‘Alec just had a baby, not appropriate,’ she continued.

‘Leo’s not attached…but he is problematic,’ she giggled about the notorious playboy Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Hobbit star also denied Matt Damon because, ‘he has a lot of kids’.

The Monuments Men star eventually chose Robert Redford, 79.

When asked who from that list could ‘keep a secret’ she said ‘anyone by Alec’.

Blanchett then threw them all under the bus when asked to reveal ‘the biggest flirt or ladies man’

‘The obvious choice is DiCaprio but they’ve all had their moments,’ she decided.

Blanchett, who is currently starring in the movie Truth, was joined by Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner Julie Andrews.

Andrews, 80, was quizzed on her ‘naughty habits’.

The game was called ‘Edel Vice’, which Blanchett misheard as ‘An*l Vice’ to much hilarity.

‘I like chip butties,’ admitted Andrews, from England, who has a rose named after her.

‘That’s French fries in a sandwich with white bread,’ she explained for the American audience.

Andrews later defended Lady Gaga’s Sound of Music performance at The Oscars, which Stephen Sondheim branded ‘a travesty’.

‘I loved it,’ she said.

‘I had no idea she had that range and I was saying ‘go girl’,’ she said, noting that Gaga was ‘shaking’ when she met her.

‘She’s a terrific lady,’ she complimented.

The acting legend said that she won’t deliberately sit down to watch The Sound of Music or Mary Poppins.

‘If I stumble across it by accident or something I might watch a couple of seconds and say ‘oh I remember doing that’ or ‘I wish I had done that better’,’ she admitted.

In another game Blanchett exposed a bizarre quirk, that she ‘loves to eat pureed baby food’.

‘Anything pureed really,’ she said.
