'I had a crush on Kim Kardashian': Blink-182's Travis Barker admits he was fascinated by the E! star while he was dating her BFF Paris Hilton

Blink-182's Travis Barker has said he had a crush on reality star Kim Kardashian in 2006 when he was dating her friend Paris Hilton.

Following his divorce from actress Shanna Moakler, the 39-year-old rock drummer tells USWeekly that he dated svelte socialite Paris, while keeping his eye on curvy Kim.

'Mind you, I enjoyed hanging out with Paris, but I love curvy girls, and Kim was eye candy,' Barker told the magazine.

'I had a crush on [Kim] and we were flirtatious but nothing happened,' the star said.

'Kim was Paris' assistant - she got all of Paris' belongings wherever we traveled.'

And he added that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star - who is reportedly with sister Khloe as she sits by Lamar Odom's bed side in Las Vegas after his reported overdose - was very nice to him. 'She was so kind and polite. I just felt like being a perfect gentleman around her. It was a trip.'

The inked-up rocker talked to UsWeekly to promote his new memoir, Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums, which is scheduled for release October 20.

Barker, who is now dating singer Rita Ora, says he experienced some wild times in Blink's heyday.

'It was surreal. Girls would be topless at shows, or throwing underwear on stage,' he said.

Yet things got even wilder during his marriage to former Playboy Playmate Shanna Moakler.

'She was unfortunately in a relationship before where someone was unfaithful to her, Barker later told People magazine.

'I understood that going into it, but I didn't know it would be to the extreme that it was. To the point where I couldn't have friends that were girls and I couldn't hang out with my guy friends. They would get egged if they came to my house.'

The drummer says Moakler's jealousies eventually erupted in a highly-publicized incident at Hollywood hot spot Hyde Park in 2006.

'When we separated,' he told US, 'I had a couple wild months with Paris Hilton, and Shanna hit Paris.'

Police reports filed at the time allege violence on the part of both women, according to People. Both Hilton and Moakler accused one another of battery in separate complaints filed at LAPD's Hollywood division.

Speaking on behalf of Hilton, publicist Elliot Mintz said that Moakler 'came out of nowhere, shouting obscenities, and struck [Paris] on the side of her face by her jaw and then continued to shout at her.'
