Australian starlet Bindi Irwin continues to blitz routines on Dancing With The Stars in the US and back home cheering her on is popstar Ricki-Lee Coulter.

The Dancing With The Stars Australia season 14 runner-up, who dedicated a dance to her erstwhile grandfather, said she felt for the teeneager who broke done as she recalled her father's memory.

Ricki, an ambassador for McHappy Day this year, gushed about the young Wildlife Warrior's talent on and off the dance floor, telling Daily Mail Australia: 'She's amazing and cool to watch!'.

'I just wish we could all vote for her,' she added. 

The Gold Coast-born singer remembers seeing a young Bindi with her late father Steve Irwin, recalling: 'I remember going to Australia Zoo so many times and seeing them around'.

'She's got just such an amazing spirit and she's a beautiful person and you can just tell she's got that, her dad's spirit inside her,' the singer added.

'Watching those videos of her dancing, especially that contemporary dance she did for her dad was just so beautiful,' Ricki-Lee said.

The singer also admitted the tear-jerking routine Bindi dedicated to her Steve brought back memories of her own time on the reality TV competition.

'I remember doing a contemporary dance for my pop who had passed away and watching her [Bindi] do it and the emotions...' she trailed off.

'I know how hard it is to tap into something so emotional and perform and know that you wanna do the very best to perform and give it absolutely everything you can and that's what she did,' she explained.

Ricki-Lee danced her contemporary routine with professional partner Jarryd Byrne to Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's One Sweet Day.

The ballad was the very song the singer had sung for her grandfather at his funeral.

Similar to Bindi's efforts that left her breaking down on the dance floor following the routine, Ricki-Lee also ended her performance in tears.

'I just never got the chance to say goodbye,' she told the judges on the show.

In the pre-recorded piece before her routine, the singer explained that her pop, who lived with her family for a time, died of a heart attack whilst in New Zealand and she felt she never got a chance to tell him how much she loved him.

Since Dancing With The Stars last year, the singer wed her fiancé and manager Richard Harrison and the couple just returned from their extended three-month honeymoon.

Admitting to DMA that she was struggling be 'back to reality', the starlet added that coming home in time to to support a cause very close to her heart has made it all a little easier to adjust to.

The popstar first began working with Ronald McDonald House through Australian Idol in 2004 and has since been an ambassador for McHappy Day.

Ricki-Lee will be serving up Big Mac and collecting donations at the Darling Quarter McDonald's store from Midday, Saturday October 17 and encourages people to 'Give what you can'.

'It really is a wonderful cause and really does change people's lives,' the singer added.

'It really is a wonderful cause': While the singer admits it's hard getting back to reality, but supporting a good cause like McHappy Day on Saturday October 17 makes it worthwhile
