Diane Kruger flashes her toned pins in a denim mini-skirt and chic striped jumper as she runs errands in New York

She never fails to dazzle in dramatic and elegant gowns on the red carpet.

But Diane Kruger proved she can pull off casual day-wear with just as much flair as she ran errands in New York City on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old actress showed off her enviably toned pins in a 90s style short denim skirt, which featured large pockets and button-down detailing.

Keep cosy in Diane's Isabel Marant Breton stripe jumper

Channeling nautical vibes, Diane Kruger was spotted out and about in New York rocking a striped jumper teamed with a denim skirt, suede ankle boots and a Chanel handbag.

There are some wardrobe staples that never get old, and a Breton top is definitely one of them. In summer they're our go-to weekend staple, and come winter we’re reaching for striped chunky knits to keep us cozy.

We’re loving Diane’s cropped button detail one which is by cool French label Isabel Marant. Perfect for layering over high waisted skirts or teaming with skinny jeans, this is top of our wish list for AW15. If it’s on yours too, simply click right to snap it up at Harvey Nichols.

But if the price tag is putting you off, fear not! Because we’ve sourced some fab alternatives for a fraction of the cost (below). This Topshop one is a dead ringer for the real deal.

The Bridge star teamed the mini with a oatmeal jumper with navy stripes and large buttons on the shoulders as she headed out for the day.

Diane - who has been in a relationship with actor Josh Jackson for 11 years - kept her accessories simple, opting for black ankle boots and socks, as well as a small cross body bag.

The German screen star completed her look by wearing her blonde locks scraped back in a ponytail, and opted for natural make-up to highlight her striking features.

Armed with her mobile phone in one hand and a pair of oversized sunglasses in the other, the actress appeared happy and relaxed as she went about her day.

While Diane may come across as confident, she recently revealed she had a hard time accepting her body as she was growing up.

Speaking to Italian magazine Lo Donna, she said: 'When I was younger, being beautiful meant being skinny; I was a model, so you can imagine how hard it was to stay in shape.

'But when I turned 30, I realised how stupid I was for believing that. I think you're beautiful when you're smart and beauty is something you need to achieve.'

And Diane admitted it's her partner Josh who keeps her self esteem up.

Asked when she feels beautiful, she revealed: 'When the person I love tells me, "I love you". I'm not joking, it's true.'

Meanwhile, Joshua - who is currently starring in The Affair with British actress Ruth Wilson - joked about his new role and the impact it had on his relationship with Diane.

He joked to hosts on the Today Show that they don't watch the series together, the storyline of which revolves around cheating partners, as it could lead to 'awkward conversations.'
