STEP ONE: TILT YOUR HEAD

Social media stars are famed for angling either the lens or their head in preparation for a selfie - the move known to accentuate stand-out facial features.

'It all starts with the classic head tilt,' Banks said, who is an ambassador for OPPO Australia.

'Lead with your best side and work it.'

STEP TWO: KEEP A NAKED NECK

While many love to show off their luscious locks in social snaps, Banks says it's important to keep the neck area free from any stray hairs.

'Brush hair away from your neck onto the side you’re leaning in towards, helping to leave your gorgeous neck bare,' Banks said.

'If you’ve got it, flaunt it!'

STEP THREE: HOLD FROM BELOW

Whether to hold from below or above is the age-old (and most controversial) question when it comes to the art of the selfie.

'Taking your selfie from above appears to squash your neck,' Banks revealed.

'Whereas holding your phone sightly below helps to accentuate the length of your beautiful neck.'

STEP FOUR: SMIZE!

The America's Next Top Model host is known for her famous 'smize' - so it comes as no surprise that she has included it as her final tip.

'For those of you who may not be aware, smize is short for “smiling with your eyes”,' Banks said.

'To pull off a smize, you’ll need to: squint, relax both your lips and eyebrows and then pretend as if a string is pulling up your face from above.'
