This summer it was rumoured Tom Brady was on the rocks with his model wife Gisele Bundchen.

But on Tuesday evening the 38-year-old New England Patriots quarterback continued to discredit those claims as he praised the 35-year-old Vogue model while talking to Entertainment Tonight at the TAG Heuer Carrera event in New York.

'She’s my best friend,' said the sports star. 'We spend as much time as we can together, and you know, it’s a busy life we have and we have three kids.'

Brady continued, 'It’s busy schedules busy for me, [but] she still works a lot so don’t let that retirement fool you. She works more than any retired person I know.'

Gisele and Tom wed in 2009, but their relationship has recently been hit by divorce rumors amid the stress of the Deflategate scandal.

Brady's four-game suspension in relation to the cheating scandal was tossed out by a judge last month.

However, the quarterback also dismissed talk of marriage trouble, in an interview with Boston radio station WEEI last month. 'We're in a great place,' he said. 'There's no bigger supporter I have than her.'

The athlete put on a dapper display on Tuesday as he attended the star-studded launch where he unveiled the luxury watch brand’s new Carrera Heuer-01.

Dressed in a slick two-piece dark suit and white shirt, the sportsman looked delighted as he took to the stage at New York’s Spring Studios.

He also gushed about his three kids: John, 8, Benjamin, 6, and Vivian, 2.

'That is a tough job because it is a lot of work, and you know, when I’m home with the kids it’s exhausting,' Tom said about Gisele as a mom. 'I can’t wait to get back to work. ‘Oh my God,’ I say. I need a break. Going back to a place where people actually listen to me, and you know, my 2-year-old old girl, she won’t listen to a word I say. I gotta get back to work and tell these 300-pounders what to do and they actually listen.'

At the TAG event he was accompanied by model Molly Sims and CEO of TAG Heuer Jean-Claude Biver, who made the announcement that Tom was the new brand ambassador.

Molly, 42, model stunned in form fitted contrast scarlet pencil dress.

Doing well to stand out, Sims slipped into her slender frame into the figure hugging number which accentuated her curves with the help of panel detailing.

Wearing her blonde hair down in loose waves, styled in a centre parting, Molly highlighted her green eyes with kohl liner.

A reptile skin clutch bag completed the Kentucky born beauty's outfit as she displayed her perfectly polished pedicure in a pair of nude heeled sandals.

Guests had the pleasure of watching Brady throw signed footballs to raise money for Best Buddies, a charitable organisation that offers the opportunity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop social and employment skills.

Tom said: 'I am thrilled to be part of the TAG ambassador team. I have always admired the craftsmanship of a luxury timepiece and the new Carerra 1 is no exception.

'The first nice watch I purchased was a TAG. So, it looks like I've now come full circle with this admired company".
