Britney Spears' taste in clothes can often border on the outrageous.

The 33-year-old singer was up to her usual fashion tricks while stepping out to the Westfield Topanga mall in the Los Angeles suburb of Canoga Park on Monday.

Britney chose to wear the slightest of white summer dresses during her shopping trip and at one point the high hem appeared to get caught in a sudden wind tunnel.

The star risked exposure when the wind lifted the back of her frock as she was crossing the car park with her son Jayden, who had accompanied her on this afternoon jaunt.

Britney appeared to be having issues with the top of the strapless outfit as she was seen giving it a tug and a pull upwards.

The back of her dress featured a crisscrossing of straps that did little to hold it in place, while hoop earings and a pendant necklace provided the accessories.

Minor adjustments: Britney was seen tugging up the front of her frock while strolling along in very high platform shoes

The Oops!... I Did It Again songstress matched her little white dress with sky-high platform slip-on shoes that probably added four or five inches to her 5 ft 4 frame.

Britney's nine-year-old son Jayden just seemed happy to be out with his mom.

The boy was sporting a T-shirt that boasted 'Las Vegas' and the graphic print of a shark with razor-sharp teeth.

It seems Britney's eldest son, Sean, decided to stay indoors during the autumn heatwave.

Britney, meanwhile, is reported to have splashed $7.4 million on a mega-mansion set on 20.98 acres of land in Thousand Oaks, California.

According to TMZ, Britney closed the deal on the property on Friday.

The home comes with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, and has its own tennis court, infinity pool and three-hole golf course.
