And Emmy Rossum certainly stepped out in style as she indulged in a spot of retail therapy in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

The 29-year-old actress looked radiant in a sheer blue floral dress with ruffle detailing and ornate patterns as she hit a series of designer stores.

Cinched in at the waist to show off her enviable figure, the floaty fabric threatened to expose the star as the wind picked up, but Emmy managed to keep it under control.

The Shameless star accessorised with an oversized navy handbag nestled in the crook of her arm, whilst her brown sandals made it easy for her to race around the shops.

She completed the look with a pair of grey cat eye sunglasses and kept her glossy brunette locks loose.

Emmy indulged in the shopping spree before heading to Three Clubs in Hollywood to take part in theatrical production, The Blind Dates Project.

The Golden Globe nominated actress made a one-off appearance in the improvisational theatre show, which features different actors every night.

The story centres around a blind date scenario, where AFI winner Bojana Novakovic takes to the stage with a different performer for each show without a script.

And the pre-show jitters didn't seem to calm down, as just before going on stage she posted: 'I'm going to puke.'

But it seems she was happy with the performance in the end, and after it was over, she tweeted Bojana: 'Well, we didn't go up in smoke @bojnovak I adore you. So much fun tonight doing The Blind Date Project with you in Hollywood.'
