But on Wednesday, Jennifer Garner put her marital woes to one side to attend a charity fundraiser for The Charlotte And Gwenyth Gray Foundation in Malibu.

Given the recent circumstances, the 43-year-old appeared to be in fantastic spirits as she took to the stage to raise awareness for Batten disease.

She looked absolutely sensational in a chic black blouse, which was styled further with a floral embroidered pencil skirt.

With her brunette tresses left loose around her shoulders, the mother-of-three polished off the classy proceedings with strappy heels, a diamond encrusted bangle and subtle tones of makeup.

The Hollywood star was joined by film producer Gordon Gray and his wife Kristen, whose daughters Charlotte, 4, and Gwenyth, 2, suffer from the fatal disorder.

Earlier on in the day, Jennifer appeared to have a spring in her step as she ran errands in Brentwood with her three-old son Samuel.

The Hollywood actress cut a lovely figure in a flirty blue print skirt and a cream sweater, while strolling along the streets in sensible Oxford-style brogues.

Her little boy, the youngest of the couple's three children, seemed to be keeping his mother on her toes as they stepped out.

She covered her eyes with dark glasses and showed off her natural beauty fresh-faced and make-up free with her ombre locks in tousled waves.

Ben and Jen - who were married for a decade - are also parents to daughters Violet, nine and Seraphina, six.

They announced their intention to divorce one day before their tenth anniversary.

Reports suggest the reason behind the break-up was that Ben had been unfaithful with the family nanny, 28-year-old Christine Ouzounian.

Ben has denied this and while they are now estranged, the actor has been living on the family's property - albeit in a guest house - to be closer to the children and they have been seen on outings together.
