Jenna Bush Hager refused to let the rain get her down as she braved the stormy New York weather to take her two-year-old daughter Mila for a walk - apparently opting to leave newborn daughter Poppy Louise at home where it was nice and warm.

The 33-year-old daughter of former president George W. Bush, who gave birth to her second child with husband Henry Hager in August, was seen pushing Mila's stroller alongside a friend and her little girl on a dreary afternoon earlier this month.

And while the weather was less than ideal, Jenna carried a large black umbrella to shield her and her daughter from the drizzle.

Meanwhile, Mila who was hiding behind her stroller's canopy and the bright green umbrella she was holding, wore a floral dress and a pint-sized trench coat for the day out.

A few weeks later, the little girl walked down the aisle as a flower girl in one of Jenna's closest friend's weddings.

Jenna proudly shared an Instagram image of Mila wearing a stunning purple patterned dress and a crown made of baby's breath, as well as a picture of her toddler posing with the bride and groom.

Of course, the proud mom, whose extremely close with her twin sister Barbara Bush, caught one of these moments on video, and shared it with the Today show audience during her appearance with Hoda Kotb.

The adorable video shows little Poppy Louise contentedly asleep on a cream cushion, wearing a onesie patterned with what look to be tiny sailboats. Big sister Mila, in a pink dress, is leaning up against the cushion as she sings an endearingly-unrecognizable version of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot to the napping baby.

'Hi munchkin!' she coos at her sister at the end of the clip.

'Mila is loving being a big sister,' said Jenna on the show. 'Day one, she came to the hospital and we let Mila pick the baby out of the nursery - I mean, we sort of guided it - but we let her pick her out and she's just totally crazy about her.

'Every morning she goes: "Mommy, where's Poppy?" And she has her own little routine,' Jenna explained.

'She likes to sing her lullabies when sleeps - which, anybody that has a newborn knows, they sleep all the time!'

Jenna, adding that Mila is just 'totally gaga' about her sister, is so elated that there seems to be no sibling rivalry between her two little girls that she appeared to get a bit teary on the program while talking about her family's new addition.

'She's just completed our family,' she gushed, tearing up. 'Everyone knows I'm hormonal. I'll cry at the drop of a hat! But it just feels really complete. We're happy.'

But despite all the joy she is finding at home, Jenna isn't letting her role as a mother stop her from remaining committed to her career.

Last month, Jenna left the girls for her first overnight work trip since welcoming little Poppy back in August.

'Leaving these wildly, happy sissies for first work trip [sic],' Jenna wrote on Instagram under an adorable shot of Poppy looking up at her big sister.

'At least I'm traveling with my sissy! #bringoutthepump,' added the TODAY show correspondent, referring to her twin sister, Barbara Bush.

'How many sisters does it take to figure out a new travel pump? Turns out more than 2. #boobexplosion #rentedpumpindestination,' she captioned the funny shot.

Jenna's eldest is growing up right before her eyes, and luckily she was able to fill in some mother-daughter bonding time before her trip.

The teacher and journalist celebrated Mila's first day of preschool last month by sharing a touching black and white picture of her holding her daughter's hand as she walked her to school.
