Reclusive Tara Palmer Tomkinson looks gaunt in a hoodie and low-slung joggers as she steps out with sister

Self-confessed 'recluse' Tara Palmer Tomkinson stepped out of hiding last week, looking gaunt in a casual combo of jogging pants and hoodie as she enjoyed a day out with her sister.

Clutching a gossip magazine, she was spotted with older sister Santa Montefiore as the pair enjoyed something of a girls' day out in West London.

The 43-year-old, often characterised by her party-girl past, cut a casual figure in low-slung joggers that hung from her hips and a designer hoodie to keep her warm.

She was perfectly manicured with a pair of large shades rested on her nose as she toted a quilted Chanel handbag under her right arm.

Tara was looking sporty with trainers on her feet while sister Santa, 45, was more seasonal with her approach wearing boots and a scarf.

The girls seemed to stick to their own taste in reading material for a chilled out afternoon; Tara opting for a tabloid magazine while her counterpart plumped for a high-society read.

It's one of the first times that the fun-loving brunette has been seen since July, when her slender frame sparked concern at Lady Annabel Goldsmith's summer party and she admitted that she's become something of a reclusive character.

Tara has been open about her one-time £400-a-day cocaine habit, that she's since kicked, that saw her shrink to a diminutive six and a half stone at the peak of her addiction.

Cause for concern: Though the socialite's frame has always been naturally slender, she confessed that a bout of food poisoning had been behind the sudden weight loss in July this year

Previously, Tara has lamented her slender build and now says she uses a NutriBullet to make sure she's getting the nutrition she needs.

She's quoted as saying: 'I have this very muscly, skinny body and I don't like it. I tell my friends I'm on the doughnut diet but I can't put the weight back on.

Looking slender: At the peak of her former drug habit, Tara confessed to being a diminutive six and a half stone at 5ft 8in, so her slight frame is not necessarily a surprise

'If I went to the gym, I'd bulk up. I hate my muscles. They're all veiny. I always put my arms up in the air before I get out of a car so the veins don't stick out.'

Her 2012 rehab stint that followed a nervous breakdown brought on by paranoia and anxiety was also highly publicised.

Prince Charles' god-daughter, in conversation with Jeremy Kyle as she appeared on one of his shows last June, admitted that she'd seen a therapist 'every single week for the last nine, ten, 11 years of my life.'

Last year, the nerves seemed to return and Tara was captured by video causing a very public disturbance as she was removed from Heathrow Airport.
