'I believe spirits can tap into technology,': Selena Gomez reveals she thinks GHOSTS are real... and even has an app to find them

It is the sort of admission that is likely to draw ridicule from one's peers.

But that did not stop Selena Gomez admitting she believes spooks really exist to Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show on Wednesday.

She even confessed she uses her mobile phone to search for phantoms from beyond the grave everywhere she goes.

‘I believe in ghosts, so I have a ghost app,’ said the 23-year-old pop star, who recently underwent chemotherapy treatment to treat the lupus disease.

‘I believe that spirits can tap into technology, why not right?’ She asked the incredulous host of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Whipping out her phone the former Disney starlet then ran the bizarre app to test the NBC studios for ghouls.

‘This is going to scare me,’ giggled Fallon as the app ran some strange wave formations and inexplicable numbers across her cellphone’s screen.

After a few seconds it spoke, saying the word ’children’ in a gruff, sinister tone.

‘Children…I don’t have any children so they must be mad at ya’ll,’ said the Texas-born actress and singer.

As Fallon made fun of the app Gomez insisted that it had once picked up people she knew ‘by name’.

Gomez later flashed some leg on the piano to perform her sultry new track Same Old Love, from the album Revival.

The Come & Get It songstress talked about how she used to be embarrassed by her low voice.

‘But I realised it’s actually an asset to me now,’ she said.

Fallon then tested Gomez’ musical prowess with the popular audio recording app Dubsmash.

‘That is frightening,’ she joked after watching herself.

Fallon’s other guest was Guardians of the Galaxy actor Vin Diesel, 48.

The host congratulated him on The Fast and the Furious franchise, which has reportedly made $1.5 billion worldwide.

‘I think so…who can count?’ joked the action hero.

The following Fast and the Furious trilogy will be made in New York, Diesel’s motherland.

‘It’s home,’ he said of the bustling East Coast metropolis.

According to Diesel the whole movie series is based on a Vibe article about street racing in NY.

‘They redirected it to Los Angeles,’ he explained.

The proud father then read an adorable text message from his seven-year-old, encouraging him his career.

‘That’s so sweet,’ cooed Fallon.
