Country stars Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler sign up to collaborate on new daytime talk show

Country queens Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler are slated to star in a new daytime talk show, it has been revealed.

The as-yet-untitled syndicated series will focus on lifestyle topics, and is expected to be taped in Hill's native Nashville.

The 48-year-old Hill will also hold an executive producer credit on the show, sharing those duties with former OWN executive vice president Lisa Erspamer, People magazine reported on Wednesday.

The Emmy-nominated Erspamer, who left the employ of Winfrey's company in 2012 after an 18-year tenure, brings a lengthy provenance to her new daytime role. Prior to her years with Winfrey, Erspamer's credits included work as a producer for talk legend Tom Snyder.

While Hill is being touted as the series' star, former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler is also expected to play a major role.

'She possesses the ability to reach far beyond the camera and into the hearts of people, allowing you to feel immediately connected to her,' Hill said of Pickler in People.

'There was no question in my mind that she should be a big part of this show.'

The 29-year-old country singer first gained national attention in 2005, as a contestant on Season Five of American Idol. Pickler was eliminated early from the competition, despite being a favorite of longtime judge Simon Cowell.

She soon secured a contract with BNA, releasing her first single, Red High Heels in 2006. The song, written by Pickler, garned her both CMT and ASCAP songwriter awards, going on to achieve Gold certification.

'This is a woman of so many talents,' Hill said. 'Kellie is smart, compassionate, funny, quick-witted and has a heart for service – the work she's done with the USO and our service men and women is no secret.'

Pickler was also featured in Season Sixteen of the popular ABC series, Dancing With The Stars, taking the top spot as that season's contest winner.

No date has been set for the debut of the new Hill-Pickler series, which is expected to see on-set interplay between the two stars.

Despite it's Nashville origin, the program hopes to reach a general audience and is not expected to focus on country music or celebs.

Instead, production staffers will offer expert panel discussions on the topics of cooking, home design and gardening.
