He's sported some form of facial hair for much of his ten-year marriage to Jennifer Garner.

But Ben Affleck debuted a baby-faced new look on Tuesday, as he shaved off his salt and pepper beard.

The 43-year-old debuted his clean new look at a special screening of Beasts Of No Nation at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

The Batman V Superman star had been growing the beard since he announced his split from wife Jennifer Garner back in June.

And even before then he had long sported a series of different facial looks - varying from designer stubble to a carefully manicured beard.

Ben's superhero chin hasn't been seen since he and his wife of ten years revealed they were divorcing, one day after their decade anniversary.

The former couple have three children together; Violet, nine, Seraphina, six, and three-year-old Samuel.

Reports suggest the reason behind the break-up was that Ben had been unfaithful with the family nanny, 28-year-old Christine Ouzounian.

The new clean-shaven look came as the actor hosted Tuesday's event with newly announced father-to-be, singer songwriter John Legend.

And while Ben looked a little tense, the All Of You singer was still beaming from the news wife Chrissy Teigen are expecting a baby.

Ben stood looking rather wooden, as his pal smiled beside him.

He was clad in a very Batman all black ensemble - consisting of black boots, dark grey jeans, a black sweater and a black leather jacket.

Ben and John joined Beasts director Cary Fukunaga at the screening, along with its young star Abraham Attah.

Also in attendance was Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer of Netflix, where the film gets its global release on Friday.

Based on the book by Uzodinma Iweala, it tells the story of child soldier in an unnamed African country, who is recruited by a ferocious Commandant, played by Idris Elba.
