Teaching children about human anatomy can be complex - but one teacher found a simple solution.

Debby Heerkens, a biology teacher at Groene Hart Rijnwoude school, in Hazerswoude Dorp, Netherlands, stripped off in front of her students to reveal an anatomically-correct spandex suit.

Standing on a desk in front of her ninth grade class, Debby took off her clothes to reveal the bodysuit, which clearly showed where all the organs of the body can be found in graphic detail.

As well as that suit, she also stripped off to reveal two more: one clearly showing where each of the body's muscles are located and another Halloween-esque skeleton suit to convey bone anatomy.

Speaking to CNN about the inspiration behind her quirky lesson, she said: 'At first they were a little bit in shock because they thought "the teacher is taking off her clothes," until, they saw what was underneath.'

According to the website, Debby, who has worked as a teacher for seven years, wanted to use a more creative way to educate and engage her class.

She was inspired by a woman she spotted in the street wearing similar leggings and asked the school director if she could employ the technique.

The school later posted the pictures and video to their Facebook page, with over 1,000 likes.

She does, however, admit she won't use the teaching style for every biology lesson in the future.
